Welcome to the USS Defiant!

Welcome to the USS Defiant! We are part of Obsidian Fleet's AU Timeline. A ship devoted to exploration, we aboard the Defiant are devoted to IDIC and all similar philosophies, looking to make an open and welcoming environment for all.

With our simulation set in 2264, the USS Defiant is set roughly a year after the events of Star Trek Beyond, letting our ship and our characters explore the macro and micro scale effects of the films' events, while also giving us the freedom to tell our own tales. Whether its the political changes on the Federation council caused by a diminished Vulcan presence or the lingering feelings of loss for those who knew people killed on Vulcan, the Defiant sim aims to explore what it feels like to live in the world set around the new film series.

The Federation is in the process of remodeling itself. After the shocking loss of Vulcan and the defensive militarism caused by Nero's attack, the UFP is pulling itself back toward the idealistic and peaceful goals of its original mission. Starfleet has made a renewed effort to put exploration and diplomatic outreach as its primary goals and has christened several new ships under that banner. Settling into an uneasy calm with its Romulan and Klingon neighbors, the Federation is looking to find new frontiers.

The USS Defiant has been purpose built to explore the stars. Filled with all of the technological advantages of its time, the Defiant puts science and exploration first, boasting impressive databases, laboratories, and sensor facilities. The Constitution class's versatility helps it fit most classes of mission and the Defiant has been outfitted for a lengthy trip away from the rest of the Federation. It’s a good thing too. The Defiant's mission is set to take her far outside of the Federation support network and she's going to face some significant threats.

Starfleet Long Range Telemetry has detected an extragalactic object on course for the Milky Way. Its point of origin is outside Federation Territory, and the Defiant has been dispatched to determine the nature of the object and what threat it may pose. Along the way, the crew is going to carry out Starfleet’s Mission: seeking out new life and new civilizations as they boldly go where no one has gone before.

Take a look around and if you're interested then enlist and join us as we boldly go where no one has gone before!

Attention all hands:

Commander Summer Gallagher is once more taking up the mantle of Chief Intelligence Officer. Relevant subordinate officers will be following her to that department as Defiant reshuffles its staff. Please direct any intelligence matters to her, once again.

Mission: Shoreleave: Earth

Morgan wandered Defiant, letting his feet guide him as was his want. Any new posting, he liked to go on a medicine walk. Aboard ship, it wasn’t the same of course. There were no plants to inspect, animals to study or wind to listen to.

Of course, it was easier…

The shuttle rocked slightly as it traveled at warp. It was a slight motion, not something to indicate the incredible speed the small vehicle was traveling at. It was things like this that occasionally surprised Charlotte. Little details which highlighted the amazing nature of their voyages...but which are shrugged off…

Sitting on the floor outside of his quarters, Morgan tried to concentrate on the data slate. There were always more medical journals to read. It was hard enough to stay on top of the standard notifications, changes to procedure and the latest reports from StarFleet Medical.

The latter is what…

Connor walked up to the door to the Captain's Ready Room. It wasn't the first stop he'd made since coming aboard the ship or even the second. He'd wanted to go over Defiant's systems before going for this meeting. May as well start on the wrong foot.

He smirked to…

Several lights flashed on the science console. Caroline Isley had been distracted thinking of the shuttle crew and what they were facing, but her attention was suddenly focused back on her panel.
