Some Private Celebrations
Shore Leave: Drama At Arcadia
Location: Captain’s Quarters, USS Defiant
Timeline: Following Defeat of the Stealth Cruiser
The victory had been badly needed, but it had also been exhilarating for much of the crew. Despite sizable odds, they’d come out on top, and with a lot to show for it. Chris knew there was more work to be done. But while repairs were being done and the cloaking device was being installed, he and Summer were just in the way. It took them little time to take advantage of their freedom.
He brushed her hair aside, pulling her close as he kissed her neck, causing her face to turn toward him almost instinctively. Her back was to him and his hands had found their way under her shirt to her stomach, pulling her to him and ensuring there was as little space between them as possible.
Their lips met and held their for a long time. His hands explored upward. He wanted to spend the rest of the day in here with her. They could just spend the day lounging, gossiping, and enjoying the lack of dire consequences for a brief moment. But first...
Summer enjoyed this, these stolen moments, the time they could spend blocking everyone out, and enjoy each other. Her own hands roamed his back as she tugged his clothing loose and began divesting him of his clothes as he was doing to her. Breaking the kiss, she nuzzled his throat. "hmm Chris..."
He rested his head against hers, taking a moment of quiet. "I've turned over command for a few hours, so it's just us. No interruptions this time." He kissed her head softly as hands traveled across her back before finding the waste of her pants. A brief moment of fidgeting later and the belt came loose. As the last of her clothes hit the floor, he ran his fingers along her bare skin in every direction. These stolen moments were what kept him sane some days. Today was no different. He had every intention of ignoring the war, command, all of it. At least for the next few hours, there was nothing else in the world but the woman in front of him.
"I am glad we have this time," she whispered in his ear as she finished stripping him of his own clothes. She gently pressed her lips to his bare shoulder. Then she lifted her head with a smile. Then she stepped back slightly placing a small gap between them. "Lets make this count."
Chris's eyes roamed up and down Summer, a small smile on his face. He cross the distance to her slowly, stepping up to her so they were right against each other. He kissed her gently. Then, he scooped her up, one arm underneath her to hold her weight with the other arm bracing her back, until she was off the ground completely. Their faces were right in front of each other, as he stifled a slight amused laugh.
Summer raised an eyebrow and then wrapped her arms around his neck. "What's so funny, Captain?"
"Oh nothing," he said coyly.
She laughed softly and pressed her mouth to his.
Chris ran a hand through his hair as he relaxed on his couch, Summer lying on top of him. His mind had already found its way back to ship related topics. He couldn't honestly admit he was surprised, but was perhaps slightly disappointed in himself. "We're not going to have a lot of time back at Arcadia once we're get back. Command is already talking about sending us out on diplomatic duty. Tholian space based on current talks."
Summer nuzzled his neck and kissed him gently "Well then lets take the time now." she whispered in his ear.
"Agreed," he said with a smile. "We'll probably have a day or two to ourselves once we get back. Anything in particular we should seek out? There's a world with a nice tropical belt not far from Arcadia. Beaches, rock climbing, the whole thing."
"Hmm sounds nice. If you want I can organize the shuttle... just bring sunscreen, right?" She smiled.
"Sounds like a plan to me," Chris said with a smile. "Should give me a good chance to test out my new diving gear too. There's supposedly a pretty steep coral shelf not far from the coastline. Could be fun to check that out."
"Could be fun. I enjoy swimming." She smiled. "I haven't dived for a long while and if you can make sure we are not interrupted..." she trailed off.
"I'll make sure we're not," he said, resting his head against hers. "I think Starfleet can manage without us for at least a day or two." After a moment he gave her a innocent look. "And I promise not to check in on reports until we get back."
She laughed at that and nuzzled his neck. "I am going to hold you to that. I am sure the ship will be fine."
